Chantenay Red Cored Carrot Seeds – Heirloom, Non-GMO – 1000 Seeds
A reliable heirloom introduced in 1929, Chantenay Red Cored carrots are known for their sweet flavor, short, thick roots, and ability to thrive in heavier or shallow soils—where longer carrots often struggle. These carrots grow 5–7 inches long and about 2 inches in diameter, with rich orange skin and a deep red-orange core.
They’re a great choice for gardeners who want a carrot that’s easy to grow, less prone to splitting or forking, and stores well through the cooler months. Chantenay carrots are delicious roasted, glazed, or pureed into soups—and their sweetness makes them great for juicing or shredding into salads.
Rich in beta carotene, vitamin A, potassium, and fiber—this is a classic carrot with a lot to love, from the garden bed to the kitchen table.
